Hoops seek to bounce back against Candystripes
Shamrock Rovers will be hoping to kick-start their season as they take on Derry City at Tolka Park tonight, kick-off 8.00pm.
Chris Mulhall (cartilage), Darren Stapleton (thigh) and John Martin (hip) remain sidelined for Rovers and have been joined by Robbie Creevy who picked up a knock in Sligo.
Pat Flynn is suspended following his red card in the Showgrounds, while Danny O'Connor faces a late fitness test ahead of the game.
Hoops boss Pat Scully said: "Robbie hurt his ankle in Sligo on Saturday and Pat Flynn did the same against Bray on Monday, so they're both out for 2-3 weeks.
"Danny O'Connor also hurt his ankle, and he's doubtful for the Derry game.
“We'll see how it goes with him. He has a chance of making it - if not this week, he should be back for Finn Harps."
City will travel without Sean Hargan (knee/ankle), Sammy Morrow (knee), Darren Quigley (wrist), Eugene Ferry (metatarsal) and Ciaran Martyn (groin).
The good news for boss Stephen Kenny is that Sammy Morrow has had positive feedback regarding injury and will resume full-time training shortly.
