FAI award UEFA licences to five eircom League clubs

The FAI’s Club Licensing Committee has awarded UEFA licences to five eircom League clubs for the 2008/2009 season.

Drogheda United will be entered in the Champions League with St Patrick’s Athletic and Cork City participating in the UEFA Cup and Bohemians in the Intertoto Cup.

Derry City were also invited to apply for a UEFA licence in the event that the Republic of Ireland is awarded a place in the UEFA Cup via the 'Fair Play' competition.
