Struggling Galway United will be hoping to kick-start their season as they take on Cork City at Terryland Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Derek O’Brien is the main injury worry for caretaker manager Billy Clery ahead of tonight's game and United will be looking to build on their midweek victory in the League Cup.

Others doubtful for Galway include Ciaran Foley and Marc McCullock who are both carrying knocks, while Wes Charles (flu) and Stephen O'Flynn (groin) are also doubtful.

Pat Sullivan is out for the Rebels as he serves a suspension carried over from last year, while Gareth Farrelly and Billy Woods miss out through injury.

Farrelly suffered a recurrence of a knee injury, while Woods is still recovering from an ankle injury in pre-season.

Aside from that City boss Alan Mathews has a clean bill of health and he said he is looking forward to the trip to Galway: “I played for Galway and had great times there.

"There are some people who were there that are still involved with the club so I always look forward to going back there.”
