They may have made a return to winning ways yesterday with a convincing victory over Bolton, but Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill says the club needs "more investment" if they are to build on the promise they have shown in spurts this season.

Having lost 4-0 to league leaders Manchester United last weekend, the West Midlands side reacted in the most reciprocal way possible by inflicting a 4-0 victory of their own on lowly Bolton, which leaves Gary Megson's team languishing in the relegation zone with five league games remaining.

Yesterday's result brings to an end a run of five league games without a win, but the Derry manager will now look to string some back-to-back victories together before improving his squad in the off-season.
