Tottenham have confirmed a pre-season tournament in Holland and have also been linked with friendlies in India and Singapore that would extend their current campaign.

Spurs have been accused of being ’on the beach’ since winning the Carling Cup, with head coach Juande Ramos deciding which players he wants to keep – and he could be given extra matches this season to continue his assessment.

East Bengal have been in discussions with Spurs over a friendly a week after the Barclays Premier League finishes, according to reports in India.

Director Amit Sen has spoken about the possibility of a match with Spurs at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata but also suggested problems with negotiations.

Spurs have also been linked with a friendly in Singapore, again for the period just after the season finishes.

“The club has yet to fully confirm its plans for post and pre-season,” said a spokesperson for Spurs.

They have announced a tour to Rotterdam in August for the Feyenoord Jubileum Tournament.

The Dutch club have invited the teams they have faced in European finals - Spurs, Celtic and Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli said: “The tournament is prestigious and will provide perfect pre-season competition for us.

“We shall be entering the final two weeks of our preparations and Juande plans to build up our pre-season gradually against differing opponents.”
