Gardner set to solve Villa right-back problem

Craig Gardner is winning his battle to be fit for Aston Villa’s home clash with Sunderland on Saturday – and prevent manager Martin O’Neill from suffering a right-back dilemma.

O’Neill has no specialist right-back after selling Aaron Hughes to Fulham in the summer and then seeing Mark Delaney forced into retirement because of his long term knee problem.
