Noel Hunt’s close-range strike gave Dundee United the half-time lead over Rangers in the CIS Insurance Cup final.

The striker turned the ball home from inches out by the left post after seeing an initial effort from the edge of the area beaten away by Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

United deserved to be in front at Hampden, and Hunt marked his goal in emotional style, pointing to the sky in memory of his late grandmother, who died earlier in the week.
