Davies facing lengthy spell on sidelines

Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies has undergone a successful operation after suffering a ruptured Achilles during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The centre-back went under the knife in London on Saturday evening only hours after sustaining the setback during the first half against Arsene Wenger’s side.
