Hendrie joins Leicester on loan
Leicester have signed Lee Hendrie from Coca-Cola Championship rivals Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old midfielder becomes Ian Holloway’s eighth signing since he became manager of the club in November and goes straight into the Foxes squad to face Cardiff at Ninian Park on Saturday.
Former England international Hendrie joined the Blades on a three-year deal at the start of the season after a 14-year stint at Aston Villa, for whom he made 251 Premier League appearances.
He enjoyed a successful loan spell in the Championship last season with Stoke where he played 28 games and scored three goals.
Holloway said: “Lee has a quality that Leicester City want in their ranks. He had a great season while on loan with Stoke last year and he is a player that can unlock a door for us. He will help the team.
“I spoke to him on Wednesday and he is a very motivated individual. That is a trait that I like. He will add to the group.
“In my eyes he can play wide left, centre midfield and wide right. I am really looking forward to working with him.”
