Hamburg all but booked their spot in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup after grabbing a comfortable 3-1 first-leg victory at FC Zurich.

Despite playing nearly the final hour without captain and playmaker Rafael van der Vaart through injury, Hamburg tallied three goals in the second half to cruise to a convincing win.
