Premier clubs agree to examine global-games plan

Premier League clubs have unanimously agreed to further examine a proposal which creates a new round of 10 competitive fixtures to be played across the world over one weekend in January, beginning in the 2010-11 season.

The Football Association have reacted positively to the Premier League’s move, and senior figures in the organisation were briefed about the proposal before this morning’s meeting.`
