Keegan hands Barton start for Magpies

Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton was handed his first start of 2008 as manager Kevin Keegan once again went in search of his opening victory since returning to St James’ Park.

The 25-year-old midfielder, currently on bail after being charged with assault and affray, was drafted in along with Emre, who returned after a three-match ban.
