Leeds have paid an undisclosed fee to land Bolton defender Lubomir Michalik on a permanent basis.

The Elland Road club have also signed Leicester defender Alan Sheehan on loan for the remainder of the season.

Former Leeds boss Dennis Wise had made Slovakia international Michalik a transfer window priority and new manager Gary McAllister has rubber-stamped a three-and-a-half year contract for the 24-year-old.

Michalik, who made eight appearances for Leeds while on loan last season, has made 13 appearances for Bolton during the current campaign.

Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Sheehan has moved to Elland Road after Foxes manager Ian Holloway signed fellow left-back Jamie Clapham from Wolves.

Sheehan will be reunited with former team-mate Darren Kenton, who has signed for Leeds until the end of the season.
