Bruce confident Brown will escape punishment

Wigan boss Steve Bruce is confident Michael Brown will avoid any Football Association charge following an off-the-ball incident with Chelsea captain Claude Makelele.

Television replays showed Brown raise his arm as Makelele came in from behind, resulting in the veteran midfielder falling to the ground and requiring treatment.
