Keegan rings the changes
Kevin Keegan’s first major decision as Newcastle manager was to appoint Michael Owen as captain for this evening’s Premier League match with Bolton.
The 27-year-old leads out a side which features two changes to the one which started against Stoke in midweek, with the suspended Emre and the injured Mark Viduka making way.
David Rozehnal has been drafted in, as well as striker Shola Ameobi, who makes his first league start since September 17 as Keegan looks to launch his third spell at St James’ as he had done his previous two, with a victory.
Bolton manager Gary Megson includes new singings Gretar Steinsson and Matt Taylor.
Gavin McCann returns as Ivan Campo, Tamir Cohen and Stelios Giannakopoulos drop to the bench.
