Big names back for Toffees ahead of Chelsea game

Everton will have all their big guns back for tomorrow’s Carling Cup semi-final first leg at Chelsea.

Toffees boss David Moyes left out Tim Howard, Tim Cahill, Nuno Valente and Phil Neville from the side that lost in the FA Cup to Oldham on Saturday.

He insisted all were carrying minor injuries , but they will all be in the squad which travels to west London. Also included now is midfielder Steven Pienaar, with Everton invoking the 14-day rule to delay his departure to join up with South Africa for the African Nations Cup.

Joseph Yobo and Ayegbeni Yakubu have both been given permission by Nigeria to play at Stamford Bridge, with Yobo expected to recover from a foot injury. Moyes is without midfielders Mikel Arteta (suspended) and Leon Osman (broken foot).

Provisional squad: Howard, Hibbert, Neville, Stubbs, Lescott, Yobo, Valente, Baines, Gravesen, Cahill, Carsley, McFadden, Johnson, Yakubu, Vaughan, Anichebe, Jagielka, Pienaar, Wessels.
