Under the watchful gaze of new England coach Fabio Capello, Wayne Rooney launched Manchester United to an FA Cup win over Aston Villa, prompting Alex Ferguson to suggest he has unearthed a new supersub.

United and Villa were labouring towards a goalless draw until Rooney was introduced 20 minutes from time.
