Hughes to wait for Reid

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes hopes Steven Reid will be fit in time for Wednesday’s home clash with Sunderland.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder missed the 2-1 win at Derby yesterday with a calf problem and Hughes is wary of rushing Reid back too soon after his injury-plagued spell at Ewood Park.

Christopher Samba missed yesterday’s game as his wife is due to give birth to their first child and the Congolese defender could also return.
