Derby went into the match with renewed confidence after losing narrowly to Liverpool on St Stephen's Day.

Blackburn were aiming to kick on after ending Manchester City’s 100% home league record on Thursday.

Manager Mark Hughes rang the changes with Benni McCarthy, Stephen Warnock, Tugay and Aaron Mokoena all recalled.
