Sunderland midfielder Liam Miller returns from suspension for the Premier League clash with Bolton tomorrow.

The 26-year-old has sat out the last three games after being sent off at Chelsea, but could be back in contention as the Wanderers arrive on Wearside.

Teenager Martyn Waghorn could keep his place after making a solid debut in the 4-0 home defeat by Manchester United on Boxing Day, while Kieran Richardson (back) returned as a substitute against his former club. Nyron Nosworthy (hamstring) and Russell Anderson (ankle) are improving by the day, but Carlos Edwards (broken leg) will be out for some time yet.

Provisional squad: Gordon, Ward, McShane, Halford, Harte, Higginbotham, Collins, Yorke, Etuhu, Leadbitter, Wallace, Whitehead, Richardson, O’Donovan, Jones, Chopra, Waghorn, Murphy, Stokes, Cole.
