Toffees concern over Arteta

Everton are hopeful that midfielder Mikel Arteta will have recovered from a bout of sickness in time to face Bolton at Goodison Park on St Stephen's Day.

Arteta was forced to miss yesterday’s defeat at Manchester United by the sickness.

The Toffees were also without Leon Osman(foot), Leighton Baines (hamstring) and Alan Stubbs (calf) at Old Trafford, and they are all expected to miss the visit of the Trotters.

Everton, who saw their 13-game unbeaten run end against the champions, will be aiming for a Premier League double over Bolton, having beaten them at the Reebok in September.

Everton provisional squad: Howard, Hibbert, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Jagielka, Valente, Cahill, Carsley, Pienaar, Gravesen, Arteta, Anichebe, Johnson, Yakubu, Vaughan, McFadden, Wessels.
