Evans bailed after Man Utd party 'rape' quiz

A 19-year-old man arrested in connection with an alleged rape at Manchester United’s Christmas party has been released on bail, Greater Manchester Police said today.

United player Jonny Evans was arrested yesterday after an allegation of rape was made following the party at the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police were called to the hotel at 4.15am yesterday following reports that a 26-year-old woman had been raped.

Evans has been bailed until February 23 pending further inquiries.
