Everton manager David Moyes left five senior players at home as his side prepared to face AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup in Holland.

With qualification to the last 32 assured and a game against Manchester United to come on Sunday, Ayegbeni Yakubu, Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill, Joseph Yobo and goalkeeper Tim Howard stayed behind.
