Keane drops £9m keeper Gordon
Britain’s most expensive goalkeeper Craig Gordon pays for Sunderland’s humiliation at Everton with his place today as Derby arrive on Wearside.
Darren Ward is preferred to the £9m Scotland international as manager Roy Keane makes five changes to the side which was trounced 7-1 at Goodison Park with Ian Harte, Dwight Yorke, Dickson Etuhu and Michael Chopra also making way.
Veteran striker Andy Cole is handed his first start for the club and a home debut, while Greg Halford, Danny Collins and Ross Wallace all return.
New Derby boss Paul Jewell recalls Steve Howard, Stephen Pearson and Gary Teale with Craig Fagan, Darren Leacock and David Jones making way.
