Terry Venables is being linked with the vacant Irish manager's job following his sacking from the England set-up this morning.

Venables had been assistant to Steve McLaren, but the pair got the axe after England's failure to reach the Euro 2008 finals.

Elsewhere, Roy Hodgson's name is also being linked with the Irish job as his contract with Finland has expired.
