Coventry boss Iain Dowie is hoping his old club West Ham can go on to Carling Cup glory at Wembley next spring after they ended his own side’s hopes at the Ricoh Arena last night.

Carlton Cole struck in injury-time to give the Hammers a fortunate 2-1 win, which swept them into the quarter-final.
