Pompey duo doubtful for Rovers visit
Sulley Muntari (hamstring) and Hermann Hreidarsson (foot) are injury doubts for Portsmouth’s home Carling Cup fourth round clash with Blackburn but manager Harry Redknapp is ready to name his strongest possible side.
Redknapp made 10 changes in the last round for the win at Burnley but is set to reveal his ambitions for the competition by including internationals David James and Sol Campbell in his squad.
Sean Davis is available again after a one-match ban and Benjani is likely to lead the attack again despite his penalty miss against West Ham on Saturday.
David Nugent is fit again after a groin problem but is likely to be a substitute again along with Kanu, who played the last 15 minutes against the Hammers – his first appearance in five weeks after a knee injury.
Richard Hughes is serving a three-match suspension.
Provisional squad: James, Johnson, Lauren, Distin, Campbell, Pamarot, Traore, Pedro Mendes, Utaka, Diop, Taylor, Davis, Kranjcar, Benjani, Kanu, Muntari, Hreidarsson, Nugent, Mvuemba, Ashdown.
