Injury woes for Hoops ahead of Rovers game

Shamrock Rovers entertain Sligo Rovers in tonight's eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash at Tolka Park, kick-off 8.00pm.

The Hoops' list of injured remains static with John Martin (abductor), as well as long-term casualties Aidan Price and Padraig Amond all unavailable.

Barry Ferguson, Ger O'Brien and David Cassidy are all back from suspension, while Eric McGill misses out following last week's sending-off against St Patrick's Athletic.

'Ger Rowe has been suffering from flu but should be okay,' said Hoops boss Pat Scully.

'And the bad news for Tadhg Purcell is that he needs an operation at the end of the season.

'He's been struggling with a groin problem for the last few weeks and it has really hindered him. We'll be using Tadhg sparingly over the last three games of the season.'

Sligo boss Paul Cook has a strong squad to chose from ahead of tonight's game.

Cook is likely to make a couple of changes to the starting XI that lost to Waterford last weekend, which could give a start to Matthew Gordon and Jamie MacKenzie.

And top scorer Fahrudin Kudozovic will be hoping to his impressive tally of eleven league goals in this year's campaign.
