No return for Viduka

Newcastle’s hopes of having striker Mark Viduka back for Saturday’s trip to Reading have been dashed.

The Australia international, who has missed the matches against Everton and Tottenham because of a calf injury is still not ready to return.

But Sam Allardyce welcomes back Alan Smith who was suspended for Monday night’s victory over Spurs.

Midfielder Charles N’Zogbia who was forced off at the interval against Spurs because he was feeling unwell has recovered and is named in the squad.
