McClaren will not use pitch as an excuse

Manager Steve McClaren has vowed there will be no excuses for England if they fail the ’field turf’ test in Moscow on Wednesday.

Yesterday’s 3-0 win over Estonia at Wembley means McClaren’s side will book their place at Euro 2008 if they can emerge victorious from their meeting with Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium.
