Portsmouth stunned Fulham with two strikes early in the second half as the visitors took all three points at Craven Cottage.

Benjani and Herman Hreidarsson were on target in the second period after the home side had dominated the first half.

Benjani added to his spectacular hat trick against Reading last week with a 49th minute deflected shot and Hreidarsson finished a Niko Kranjcar pass.

Not even a triple substitution could pull Fulham back into the match after they had ruled the first half with Clint Dempsey and David Healy both forcing David James into fine saves.

Fulham were looking for crumbs of comfort in the closing 15 minutes but Pompey, once ahead, never looked like losing their composure.

The one black mark on their afternoon was Diop limping off with what looked like a hamstring injury but at least it gave boss Harry Redknapp the chance to send on the popular Pedro Mendes for a run.
