Bolton v Chelsea

Frank Lampard returned to the Chelsea team at the Reebok Stadium, following a thigh injury.

The midfielder’s reappearance was a boost for coach Avram Grant, who was looking for his first Barclays Premier League victory.

It was also good news for England boss Steve McLaren before the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia.

Lampard was one of four changes to the side – with Juliano Belletti, Steve Sidwell and Solomon Kalou all drafted in.

Bolton captain Kevin Nolan was omitted from the squad, as was Gary Speed, and striker Kevin Davies was handed the armband.
