Blackburn boss Mark Hughes will resist the temptation to make too many changes for his side’s Carling Cup third round clash with Birmingham at Ewood Park tomorrow night.

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes will resist the temptation to make too many changes for his side’s Carling Cup third round clash with Birmingham at Ewood Park tomorrow night.

Hughes has no new injury worries to contend with and will name a strong side, although strikers Jason Roberts and Matt Derbyshire will be contending for places in the starting line-up.

Hughes is still without Ryan Nelsen, although the New Zealander’s hamstring injury is not as serious as first reported, and he could return to action within a fortnight.

Team (from): Friedel, Enckelman, Emerton, Samba, Ooijer, Warnock, Bentley, Dunn, Savage, Pedersen, Santa Cruz, McCarthy, Derbyshire, Roberts, Tugay, Mokoena, Rigters, Khizanishvili, Brown.
