Richardson eyeing FAI Cup success

Cork City boss Damien Richardson knows that his side are in for a tough task as they travel to the RSC to face Waterford United in tonight’s FAI Ford Cup quarter-finals.

“League form goes out the window when the FAI Cup comes to town,” said Richardson.

“It is important that we possess a good attitude, a high level of concentration and a deep hunger to ensure we create a good performance.”

“Anything less than a good performance could leave us susceptible to a cup upset.”

Colm Carroll (cruciate) will not be involved for City as he remains sidelined by injury, although he has now returned to full training.

Goalkeeper Mark McNulty is still suffering some pain due to severe bruising to his knee and is rated as doubtful.

John O’Flynn is also a doubt with a groin strain, but he will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness ahead of the game.

Darragh Ryan is set to be out for a number of weeks as he is struggling with a pelvis injury.
