Sevilla president: Ramos is here to stay
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido insists he has no knowledge of any interest from Chelsea in acquiring the services of coach Juande Ramos.
The London club moved swiftly following the shock departure of Jose Mourinho as they announced that director of football Avram Grant and assistant manager Steve Clarke would take charge of first-team affairs in the immediate future.
And Del Nido claims he “does not know anything of the possibility” that they want Ramos as the Portuguese’s long-term successor.
The Sevilla chief told Spanish daily Marca: “We know it is the intent of our coach to remain in Seville at least until the end of season and not to abandon the club halfway through a season.”
Ramos was also linked with a move to Tottenham earlier this summer, but declared he would see out his contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan which runs until June 30, 2008.
