Klaas keeps Ajax on top

A late goal from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar earned Ajax a 1-0 win at Heracles Almelo although they could lose their lead at the top of the Eredivisie as soon as Sunday.

Huntelaar’s 76th-minute strike lifted Henk ten Cate’s side to 10 points – a mark they share with champions PSV Eindhoven.

PSV needed an early Danny Koevermans strike to sink a Vitesse Arnhem side that had won all three games so far this season.

Vitesse are stuck on nine points with Feyenoord, who visit Roda JC in Kerkrade and will go top if they win.

De Graafschap continued their impressive start with a 3-2 win over VVV Venlo.

Donny De Groot, Cerezo Fung a Wing and Stephan Keller gave the men from Doetinchem a 3-0 lead before late goals from Ken Leemans and Samir El Gaaouiri for VVV.
