Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has offered encouragement to Chris Killen despite the New Zealander being kept waiting to make his first competitive start for the club.

While Strachan’s other summer signings Scott Brown, Scott McDonald and Massimo Donati have quickly established themselves as first-team regulars, the New Zealand international has made only three substitute appearances in the Premier League since joining on a Bosman free transfer from Hibernian.
