Morrison eyes 100th goal for Palace

Crystal Palace have given Clinton Morrison the green light to pick up a yellow card tomorrow - if he scores his 100th goal for the club.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland striker has racked up 99 goals in two spells at Selhurst Park and manager Peter Taylor has agreed to let the striker wear a special T-shirt under his jersey and show it off if he finds the net in Palace's Coca-Cola Championship clash at Ipswich.

Players who remove their tops to celebrate a goal can find themselves booked, but Taylor is determined not to be a party pooper.

He told the club's official website, www.cpfc.co.uk: "It would be tremendous for him to reach that landmark, he has given the club great service.

"For him to score 100 goals would be magnificent and I have given him permission to wear a special T-shirt under his jersey to show off when he scores.

"He might have to take a yellow card for it, but I will accept that - as long as he has not been booked earlier."

Taylor could welcome back two players for the Portman Road trip.

Defender Jeff Hughes, a summer signing from Lincoln, and midfielder Carl Fletcher are set to make their first appearances of the campaign after missing the first three matches due to niggling injuries.

But Taylor expects to be without key midfielder Ben Watson for six weeks as the England Under-21 international has damaged ankle ligaments, while winger Paul Ifill will also miss out.

Palace are expected to travel with two former Ipswich forwards, James Scowcroft and Shefki Kuqi, in their squad.
