Goalkeeper Dan Connor was Drogheda's villain and hero as he rescued a point from the jaws of defeat at Dalymount.

With Ireland under-21 player Conor Powell and John Paul Kelly excellent, Bohs started well and took the lead on 31 minutes.

Both combined for the goal down the left with Kelly running at the Drogheda defence before squaring for Ryan McCann to shoot past Connor.

But leaders Drogheda levelled five minutes after the break when Brian Shelley's run resulted in a Gavin Whelan cross being turned into his own net by Owen Heary.

Bohs should have won it nine minutes later, however, when Kelly was upended by Connor.

But the Drogheda keeper brilliantly saved Stephen O'Donnell's penalty as Paul Doolin's side escaped with a point which still leaves them seven points clear at the top of the table.
