Alves nears as Robben set to fly

Chelsea are on the brink of finally completing the signing of Sevilla’s Daniel Alves, with Arjen Robben set to quit Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid.

Reports in Spain were last night suggesting the Alves deal was imminent after he was left out of Sevilla’s squad for the Champions League third qualifying round first-leg tie against AEK Athens.
