Benitez calls on rested stars

Three of the four big names left out of Liverpool’s squad at Aston Villa on Saturday were on the trip to Toulouse today for the Champions League third qualifier.

Peter Crouch, Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun were included in the 18-man squad but Harry Kewell is still carrying a slight groin injury.

Jermaine Pennant was the unlucky player left behind this time, with French goalkeeper Charles Itandje included.

Liverpool provisional squad: Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Agger, Riise, Arbeloa, Babel, Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Voronin, Kuyt, Sissoko, Crouch, Benayoun, Hyypia, Itandje.
