Bale set to miss out

Tottenham are without new signing Gareth Bale for the Premier League clash at Sunderland as the left-back is recovering from thigh and knee problems picked up in pre-season.

England internationals Ledley King and Aaron Lennon are recovering from summer knee surgery, while Young-Pyo Lee and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (both knee) are also out.

Hossam Ghaly and Kevin-Prince Boateng are short of match-fitness.
