Mooney brace seals Longford win
Longford Town 3 Bohemians 0
Dave Mooney hit his ninth and tenth goals of the season as bottom of the table Longford made it a hat-trick of wins to narrow the gap on second bottom Galway to six points.
Both sides had chances before a bad mistake gifted Longford the lead on 25 minutes.
Dean Pooley, under no pressure, passed back to keeper Brian Murphy, but it was well read by Dave Mooney who raced through to shoot home.
It got no better for Bohs as they lost Murphy to injury before half-time and then had substitute Mark Rossiter shown a straight red card for a bad challenge on Gary Deegan on 72 minutes.
Mooney added his and Longord's second on 87 minutes with a free header from Dessie Baker's free-kick.
David Freeman then put Jamie Duffy away down the right to run on and shoot past Keith Gallagher to give Longford their biggest win of the season to avenge their worst defeat - a 5-0 setback at Dalymount Park back in May.
