Ten-man Cork came from behind to earn a precious point at Richmond Park from a match that seemed destined not to go their way.

Saints came within inches of taking the lead after just 27 second when Alan Kirby shot against a post from Mark Quigley's cross.

Cork striker Denis Behan then missed a sitter on 13 minutes when he failed to punish a mistake by Darragh Maguire.

St. Pat's deservedly went ahead on 37 minutes, though, when Michael Keane's miscued set up Ryan Guy to shoot past Mick Devine form the edge of the area.

That was almost doubled in the first minute of the second half when Billy Gibson's header from Guy's cross came back off a post.

Any real hope of Cork getting back into it seemed to end on 70 minutes when defender Sean Kelly was sent off for pulling down Mark Quigley.

But Behan popped up with four minutes to go to shoot home Gareth Farrelly's corner and earn a draw.
