Gerrard 'blown away' by stadium plans

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard led the praise for the re-drawn plans for the club’s new stadium, as chief executive Rick Parry conceded major changes in the area’s transport system will be needed to eventually increase capacity to 78,000.

That would make it the biggest club ground in the country, and would satisfy the dreams of new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks who saw their new scheme unveiled for the first time today as the plans were lodged with the local authority.
