Bottom-of-the-table Longford record win

Longford Town 1 UCD 0

Gary Deegan scored a dramatic stoppage time winner as bottom side Longford won for the first time in twelve games.

With the game seemingly set for a scoreless draw as the watched ticked into the second minute of added time, Deegan collected Robbie Farrell's pull back to strike a low drive from 20 yards that arrowed into the bottom corner of Darren Quigley's net.

Quigley put in a man-of-the-match display with three brilliant saves as he appeared to have thwarted Longford in this one-sided clash at Flancare Park.

First Quigley saved at full stretch from Dessie Baker on 18 minutes.

Baker brought the best out of Quigley once again three minutes before the break when the College keeper got down well to push out a fiercely struck low drive. It remained one-way traffic throughout the second half.

Alan McNally cleared off the line from Mooney on 80 minutes before Quigley excelled again to save Town captain Damien Brennan's header from Baker's corner three minutes later.
