City looking for European glory

Derry City will be hoping to make home advantage count in tonight’s Champions League first leg qualifier against Armenia’s FC Pyunik at the Brandywell, kick-off 7.45pm.

Killian Brennan, Pat McCourt and Ken Oman all return to the squad after recovering from injuries, which means that manager John Robertson has a full squad to choose from.

“Derry enjoyed huge success last year with wins over Gothenburg and Gretna. Our opponents will have taken note of that,” said Robertson.

“If we can progress we play Shaktar Donesk which is a big incentive.”

Pyunik have eight Armenia internationals in their squad including Hamlet Mkhitaryan who recently scored the winner for Armenia against Poland in a Euro 208 qualifier.
