O'Donovan hot streak continues for Cork
Cork City 2 Waterford United 0
Roy O'Donovan hit his 20th goal of the season - his 13th in the league - as Cork eased to a third league win on the spin to edge them back into the title race tonight.
Waterford striker Vinny Sullivan shaved the top of the City crossbar from the penalty spot on 25 minutes after a handball by home skipper Dan Murray.
But Cork got on top and O'Donovan finished off a fine move involving John O'Flynn and Liam Kearney to put them in front on 37 minutes.
The Cork striker - watched by Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd - then hit a post just before the hour mark.
Substitute Leon McSweeney sealed the points in the final minute with a terrific first goal for the club, firing home from 18 yards after Denis Behan flicked on keeper Mick Devine's clearance.
