Sunderland are close to signing former Newcastle striker Michael Chopra after agreeing a reported £5m fee with Cardiff.

Chopra, signed for £500,000 by the Welsh side from Newcastle last summer, is to discuss personal terms with Black Cats manager Roy Keane.
