West Ham captain Nigel Reo-Coker has told of the “hurt” and “heartbreak” which has prompted him to hand in a transfer request.

The 23-year-old England Under-21 international midfielder has decided on a move after he was not given the right assurances over his future by the Barclays Premiership club’s board.
